A young vibrant Nigerian couple who although they had their traditional West African wedding, wanted to have an intimate micro wedding in the Laurel, Maryland. Their wedding day took place on a warm, crisp fall afternoon. The vibe was soft and romantic – with the space full of lush blush flowers with a touch of gold accents.
Lets first talk about the space. It was not your usual venue –the bride chose to transform the lobby area of Oakland Presbyterian Church located in Laurel, Maryland. The ceremony took place at the church and transitioned over to the adjacent transformed lobby. It was the perfect space for an intimate wedding of 10 guests
The second piece to making this romantic day happen, was getting the right decor. We worked with BCG Events for the floral designs and The Light Source company for draping and lighting. Table and chair rentals came from Nostalgia Events and the flatware from Something Vintage.
In speaking to the bride, she mentioned she found me through Instagram and reached out to me about 5 weeks prior to her wedding day. It was a short window, however I was able to secure her caterer, Chops by Rera and bar tender.
During the rehearsal walk-through of the ceremony space, we noticed the sound system was not functioning. I quickly was able to provide speaker and microphone to ensure the celebration went without a hitch!
