Zitel and James’ Cintron Baltimore wedding was on the most gorgeous spring day in late May.
James and Zitel met at a church conference in the Summer of 2014. They started talking while watching the World Cup in between event sessions. Although they are both Nigerian, Zitel was born in Germany and the only one rooting for Germany. Germany ended up winning the World Cup, and Zitel, couldn’t resist reaching out to the naysayers (including James). Their friendship blossomed after that day.
On 28 June, 2020 James proposed. He was in town for a formal introduction to Zitel’s family (known in the Igbo culture as the “knocking at the door”). What Ziltel didn’t know was that he strategically left some things in her home. So although Zitel thought she was simply dropping off his forgotten items at the hotel James was staying in, he had other plans. When she arrived, he surprised her with an intimate proposal.
Nearly six years after meeting and one engagement later, the couple contacted us to plan & design their intimate celebration which took place on May 23rd 2021 at Citron Restaurant. The couple wanted to find a space that felt intimate for their 50 guests and had an indoor and outdoor option. We utilized “The Cove” for their reception. We also used the outdoor wrapped around deck overlooking Lake Quarry for the ceremony.
The couple wanted to steer away from the ultra lux gold look they were accustomed seeing at family weddings. They wanted to wed on their terms. So instead, we helped them chose a neutral color scheme of champagne, accented with toffee and olive tones. They wanted earthy, ethereal romanticism for their special day.
